Best and Easiest French Bread

"This is the easiest-to-make-bread known to mankind. Plus, it is delicious and you will be known and man will be kind!"
-Brenda Benedict

Ingredients:
3 C water (very warm)
2 T yeast
4 T sugar
1 T salt
2 T oil
8 C (about) flour

Directions:
Mix water, yeast, and sugar. Add remaining ingredients. Add about 8 cups of flour or until it is just right. You know, it is almost-not-sticky... and when you knead it and slam it down on the counter it smiles and relaxes itself for a while. Oh, sometimes you may want to throw in stuff like cheese, or garlic, or minced onion, or any kind of seasonings that smell good, look good and/or taste good or that fall out of the cupboard when you open the door. Just knead them in there too.

Cut into 4 loaves. They will be about 12-14 or something in. long and about an inches long and about an inch tall by an inch wide. Cut 4 slits sideways across each loaf top. Let raise a lot... double or triple... or a lot... while you stir up the rest of you supper then bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until just lightly browned. Take out and butter the tops. Sprinkle some cheese on top while hot, if you like. Don't do it if you don't. Depends on what you made for dinner.
