Sugar Cookies

"This cookie recipe is from my great grandma Western. My Dad loved these cookies at Christmas time when his grandma would sprinkle crushed candy canes on top. These cookies are soft and so good!"

Ingredients:
2/3 C butter
1 C sugar
1/4 C milk
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
4 C flour

Frosting Ingredients:
2 C powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp butter
Little milk

Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs. Dissolve soda in milk and add. Add vanilla. Stir in flour. Add salt. Chill 1/2 hr. Bake for 8 min at 350. Makes about 4 doz. cookies.
